Be Advised: Stretch of Highway Near Worthing Now Under Construction
You would never know it by looking out the window today with all the snow we're getting, but, we are off and running again with road construction season in South Dakota.
Another big road construction project that will affect motorists in Lincoln County here in the Sioux Empire over the next several months is now underway.
Dakota News Now is reporting that crews kicked off a rather large construction project on Monday, (March 31) on a portion of highway on 285th Street between Highway 11 and 472nd Avenue south of Worthing.

Street crews are working on a full-depth reclamation, stabilization, and culvert replacement project.
According to Dakota News Now, a portion of the road will be open to local traffic and emergency personnel at times, and there will be hard closures throughout the duration of the project as replacement work takes place.
Notifications will be given out to the public in advance of the closure dates so that motorists are able to plan alternate travel routes on those days.
Look for the South Dakota Department of Transportation to release information on this projec and other ongoing projects in and around the area on their website throughout the year.
This particular project will be no quick fix, like many other road construction projects in South Dakota during the spring, summer, and fall months.
Crews are expected to be working on this stretch of road off and on for the remainder of the year.
