7th Annual ‘Gear & Beer’ Event this Saturday at Great Outdoor Store

If you're a big fan of outdoor camping gear and beer, you should probably make a point to visit downtown Sioux Falls this Saturday.

The Great Outdoor Store on East 10th Street is hosting its 7th annual Gear & Beer event to help benefit (FAST) Falls Area Single Track.

The money raised from Saturday's event will be used to help expand (FAST) trail systems around Sioux Falls.

The weather is going to be absolutely beautiful on Saturday, and according to Dakota News Now, here's what you can expect to see at the Gear & Beer event, lots of ice-cold beer from Remedy Brewing Co., food from Taverns + Tots, a brunchy camp stove cooking contest, raffle packages, and a chance to check out the latest outdoor supplies and apparel the Great Outdoor Store has to offer.

Since its inception in 2017, the Gear & Beer event has become a way for the Sioux Empire to kick off the summer camping season.

In addition to the great gear & beer that day, the Great Outdoor Store will also feature over a dozen vendor tables for visitors to check out, as well as interactive contests starting at noon where people can win fun prizes.

And since this weekend is dedicated to all you moms out there, Dakota News Now reports the Gear & Beer folks at the Great Outdoor Store have decided to give their "Camp Iron Chef" cookoff competition on Saturday a Mother's Day theme.

All of the judges for the cooking competition will be mothers themselves.

The entire Gear & Beer event takes place on Saturday, (May 11) from 11:00 to 6:00 PM on the lawn of the Great Outdoor Store at 201 East 10th Street in downtown Sioux Falls.
