In a historic Government Shutdown, Hy-Vee stores across South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota are once again stepping up to help families.

With some unable to work and federal assistance programs at risk of being cut, people feel uncertain about being able to afford food. Thankfully, Hy-Vee is providing another week of affordable meals for communities in the Sioux Empire.

Hy-Vee officials are also extending their efforts beyond the kitchen and in your community. In a new press release, officials with Hy-Vee announced a new register round-up campaign. This new campaign allows "to support local food pantries in their communities by rounding up their purchases at checkout. Customers can also purchase $5 and $10 food bank donation bundles, which will be donated to a designated pantry in each store's community to assist families in need. These efforts are in addition to Hy-Vee’s $100,000 corporate donation made to Feeding America last week. Hy-Vee is also making additional food donations to local food pantries during this time of need."
