
Watch The First-Ever Sioux Falls Corgi Races at Stampede Game
The Sioux Empire knows and loves the iconic Wiener Dog Races with the Sioux Falls Stampede. But soon, a brand-new race will hit the ice.
The Sioux Falls Stampede is partnering with the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society for the Inaugural Stampede Corgi Races! Looks like the local hockey team is going to the dogs, literally!

Presented by Tito's Vodka, the Inaugural Stampede Corgi Races will take place at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center on Wednesday, November 26th, when the Sioux Falls Stampede take on the Fargo Force. The team has been sharing the new, exciting dog race on Facebook and Instagram posts.
Here's what Sioux Falls hockey fans need to know to get ready for the big race.
- Fans can purchase game tickets through this link, and $5 of each ticket sale goes back to the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society.
- You're also encouraged to bring Pet Food or Enrichment items to the game to support the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society. Fans who donate will get "a BOGO ticket voucher valid for any December game." Items accepted include:
- Lick Mats
- Black Large Kongs
- Wet Pate Dog Food
- Non-stick Spray
- Wax paper
- Can openers
- Dry Dog Food Topper Shakers
What Are The Sioux Falls Corgi Races All About?
Sioux Empire Corgi fans can cheer loud and proud for their favorite Corgi on the ice. There will be two races during each intermission. This is how each session will work from the Sioux Falls Stampede:
1st Intermission- Three heats of 10 dogs each will race on the PREMIER Center ice with the top two finishers from each race advancing to the Championship!
2nd Intermission- The Final Six Corgis will compete in the full-ice Championship! Six will race, but only one will be crowned the inaugural Sioux Falls Corgi Races Champion!
