Some of the biggest names in music today include artists like Bailey Zimmerman, Taylor Swift, and Jelly Roll. Making his Sioux Falls debut, Jelly Roll performed a sold-out show at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center on Saturday night.

The "Son of A Sinner" singer brought the Sioux Falls stage down with his music and inspired thousands with his stories. Fans of Jelly Roll say he truly does uplift the  "misfits" of the world. Some Sioux Falls "misfits" even had a one-in-a-million chance to meet their favorite singer.

Morgan Jansen saw the sold-out Jelly Roll concert with her boyfriend and 11-year-old daughter Aries North at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center on Saturday. Her daughter Aries North is a huge fan of Jelly Roll. So after the show, they decided to take a chance and wait for Jelly Roll outside the PREMIER Center. Taking that chance was worth it!

Jelly Roll made Aries North's dreams come true! I had a chance to talk to Morgan about this awesome experience. She told me Jelly Roll was one of the nicest, most down-to-earth human beings she's met!

We were standing outside in the cold for about a hour behind the arena, in hopes of meeting him. We saw him get in his SUV and definitely thought we wasn't going to stop. When all of the sudden the SUV parks right by the security gates and Jelly Roll gets out. My daughter instantly starts to cry and he gave her the biggest bear hug there was to give. He said, "What's wrong baby?" And she told him she was so happy to meet him. That lead to another hug and their picture taken. My boyfriend and I also got to hug him and take a picture with him. When he first got out of the SUV he mentioned that it may have to be a quick meet and greet because he was about to be late for his flight. So him taking the time out of his night to come and make our dream of meeting him is a memory that will last a lifetime. He truly is such a kind soul an amazing person, and a cool down to earth kind of guy!

What an awesome mom you are, Morgan! My mom stood outside with my sister and me when our favorite boy bands came to town. The things parents do to make kids smile! It's so worth it!

We cannot wait to welcome Jelly Roll back to the Sioux Empire again!

Gone But Not Forgotten - Iconic Sioux Falls: Whiffer's Sandwiches

The Merriam-Webster definition of iconic is "widely recognized and well-established." That would definitely describe Whiffer's Sandwiches which used to call North Minnesota Avenue home.

The gone but not forgotten sandwich shop was located in an old house at 1133 North Minnesota Avenue. It served sandwiches to Sioux Falls from November 1978 until the summer of 2020.
