Record Heat Wave Set to Bake South Dakota This Week
After a week of above-average temperatures, South Dakota will once again be at or near record highs this week as a heat wave envelopes much of the region.
According to Accuweather, the cities of Rapid City, Sioux Falls, Bismarck, Fargo, Minneapolis, and Duluth will all be affected by this devastating and record-breaking heat wave.
Much of the area expected to be hit hardest by the heat is already in a period of drought, making the rising temperatures even harder on South Dakota farmers.

This Week's South Dakota Heat Wave Could Have Devastating Results
Accuweather says that daily records dating back to the 1800s are set to be broken.
Highs well into the 90s are forecast for much of South Dakota and western Minnesota. In Minneapolis, temperatures will peak within a few degrees of 90 into Wednesday.
In some cases, temperatures can eclipse the season-high mark from all of last year over the northern Plains.
