Five months might not seem like a long time, but when you're missing a piece of your family, it can feel like a lifetime. Panda's family never lost hope during their search. Luckily, Panda had a built-in advantage: A microchip.

The microchip was essential to finding Panda. It held her name, phone number, and a family who never stopped searching for her.

When she was finally found, that microchip made all the difference. A quick scan connected her to the people who never stopped loving her, and just like that… a reunion that once felt impossible became reality.

1 in 3 family pets will go missing in their lifetime.

It’s a scary statistic, but reunions like Panda’s remind us that preparation saves heartache. A microchip is permanent, simple, and can’t fall off like a collar or tag.

This happy reunion would not have been possible without Panda’s microchip, which the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society staff found. Microchips can save the heartbreak of uncertainty for many families. It gives pets a chance to find their way back home.

Sioux Falls Area Humane Society does offer microchipping services at the shelter. Find all the details here. Every lost animal should have this lifesaving microchip; it makes a huge difference.

Welcome home, Panda! Your loving family has been waiting a long time to see you.
