Freezing rain will continue Monday evening and early Tuesday morning. Be Prepared for possible power outages and tree damage because of the ice and wind. Travel is strongly discouraged. Stay home if you can.

...ICE STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Significant icing. Ice accumulations of up to three to
  four tenths of an inch. Icing may be most significant on
  elevated surfaces. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...In Iowa, Lyon County. In South Dakota, Kingsbury, Lake
  and Minnehaha Counties.

* WHEN...Until noon CST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Isolated power outages and tree damage are possible
  due to the ice. The hazardous conditions could impact this
  evening`s and Tuesday morning`s commute. Gusty winds could bring
  down tree branches.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Freezing rain will continue to develop
  after midnight. As temperatures warm Tuesday morning freezing
  rain will change to rain with icing improving after daybreak.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Travel is strongly discouraged. If you must travel, keep an extra
flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an
emergency. Prepare for possible power outages.

A significant storm system is expected to impact the broader region
later Monday through Thursday. This is expected to bring a mix of
precipitation types and gusty winds resulting in impacts and travel
disruptions across the region. Please continue to monitor your local
forecast.

As for the Twin Cities area, here is what NOAA out of Minneapolis/St. Paul has to say:

A powerful storm system will impact the region Monday night
through Friday, with precipitation coming in two phases. Phase
one will move into western Minnesota late Monday night and move
across Minnesota on Tuesday and into western Wisconsin Tuesday
night. A mix of freezing rain and heavy snow will be possible
Tuesday across western and central Minnesota, with heavy snow
possible Tuesday night in western Wisconsin. Phase two of this
storm will come Thursday and Friday in the form of a prolonged
period of light to moderate snow that will likely lead to a few
inches of snow for most of central and southern Minnesota and
western Wisconsin.

In addition to the precipitation on Tuesday, southeast wind gusts
of 40 to 50 mph will be possible.
