Beloved Sioux Falls Restaurant Closes Its Doors For Good
They say all good things must come to an end. However, there was still hope in the Sioux Falls community that a restaurant would open its doors again.
Late Wednesday afternoon, Cherry Creek Grill in Sioux Falls officially announced in a Facebook post that the local eatery will be closing indefinitely.

Cherry Creek Grill in Sioux Falls has been closed since September 2022 due to a fire. Prior to the fire, the establishment was in the middle of major renovations. The owner of Cherry Creek Grill Charlie Kneip had big plans for the neighborhood spot. However, the fire derailed a majority of these plans.
The fire put a lot of things in perspective for Charlie Kneip. In the end, Charlie realized that he wanted to spend more time with his family and that it was time to retire.
"If I was 20 years younger, there would be no question, I would be reopening."
The building, land, and liquor license for Cherry Creek Grill will be "up for sale in the very near future."
Although this news can be disappointing for some, there is a bright side to this story. Besides owning and operating Cherry Creek Grill, Charlie Kneip has been running TC's Referee Sports Bar and Grill for over 30 years. Kneip wants to reassure his loyal Cherry Creek Grill patrons that TC's Referee Sports Bar and Grill will remain open in Sioux Falls! Kneip explains that TC's Referee provides the same "great experience" as Cherry Creek Grill. The menus are even the same!
Anyone who currently has Cherry Creek Grill gift cards will be honored at TC's Referee Sports Bar and Grill.
We'll miss Cherry Creek Grill! Thanks for the memories!
