2024 Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle: Remedy Brewing

January in Sioux Falls only means one thing...Burger Battle! This year's Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle is pretty intense. A record 37 savory burgers from local Sioux Falls restaurants are looking for your stomachs and votes.

When it comes to burgers, there definitely is one for everyone, especially in Sioux Falls! Sponsored by First Western Bank & Trust, the 11th annual Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle features burgers residents can sink their teeth into. It's hard to decide which of the 37 burgers to try. But someone has to do it! The very first burger of this year's battle I decided to try with some friends is the Beer Fed Beef Burger from Remedy Brewing Company. The local brewery is well-known for its variety of craft beverages. But the chefs inside Remedy also know how to cook a mean burger. This burger from Remedy Brewing Company could be the one to beat during this year's Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle. 

According to a previous article from my co-worker Jeff Harkness, the Beer Fed Beef Burger is a "locally raised beef patty fed by Remedy Brewing spent grain, sundried tomato pesto aioli, tomato jam, burrata cheese, spicy balsamic, Queen Bee beer bread bun from Breadsmith. Served with a side of white cheddar mac and cheese."

Even though this was my first burger of the annual battle...this burger is a strong contender. The flavors were outstanding and pairing the mac and cheese with the burger was an added bonus. One suggestion for Remedy Brewing Company: I would toast the bun in the future to enhance the flavor of the beer bread. Either way, you can't go wrong with a beer and burger!
