2024 Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle: CRAVE
January in Sioux Falls only means one thing...Burger Battle! This year's Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle is pretty intense. A record 37 savory burgers from local Sioux Falls restaurants are looking for your stomachs and votes.
When it comes to burgers, there definitely is one for everyone, especially in Sioux Falls! Sponsored by First Western Bank & Trust, the 11th annual Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle features burgers residents can sink their teeth into. Looking to satisfy your sweet tooth or a little extra heat with your meat? You'll find it on this year's Burger Battle ballot.
It's hard to decide which of the 37 burgers to try. But someone has to do it! The next burger on this tasty journey is from CRAVE American Kitchen & Sushi Bar. They partnered with the Sioux Falls CTE Academy to create The UnBrieable Burger. This was a fun burger to try and it's one of the most creative in this year's Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle.
According to a previous article from my co-worker Jeff Harkness, The UnBrieable Burger is "a 7-ounce beef patty topped with brie cheese, a cherry merlot sauce, and a puff pastry lid with arugula and a brioche bun."
This was a very tall burger. We didn't know where to begin! You can tell the chefs and inventive minds at CRAVE American Kitchen & Sushi Bar and the Sioux Falls CTE Academy put in a lot of thought with this burger. When you take your first bite, you will taste the cherry merlot sauce immediately. The brioche bun complements the ingredients perfectly. However, due to its placement, the cherry merlot sauce can overwhelm the other intricate flavors, including the namesake brie cheese. The fries make a great side!
