Missing Illinois Child Found After 7 Years by US Marshals
This is sadly the type of situation that rarely has a happy ending, but in this case it does. United States Marshals have just successfully located a child in Illinois that's been missing for the past 7 years.
The United States Marshals just shared this good news about a child in Illinois that was first reported missing as an infant in 2018. This is quite the twisted story. They say the Department of Children and Family Services learned this child had been diagnosed with a sexually-transmitted disease and was not safe with the mother, but before they could rescue the child, the mother fled. After years of searching, the Chicago Police Department requested the help of the US Marshals on July 9, 2025. Their investigation led them to believe that the mother and child were at a residence in the Humboldt Park neighborhood in Chicago.
According to the report, the Marshals did surveillance on the suspected neighborhood and witnessed many women and children exiting the residences until on July 17, 2025, they identified the mother who had a stroller, a teenage and a younger child they believed could be the missing infant now years older. The US Marshals took the mother into custody and all of the children including the teenager are now under the custody and protection of the state of Illinois.
This successful recovery of a missing child was done by the United States Marshals Service with great assistance by the Chicago Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children unit.
