There's a new Spring outlook for Missouri that's just been shared by Farmer's Almanac that predicts thunder, snow and very late-arriving warm weather months and I really hope they're wrong.

First, you need to know that there are two different Farmer's Almanac. There's a new one and the traditional old one and I frankly can't tell which is which. I'm fairly certain that this new Spring outlook comes from the "new" Farmer's Almanac.

What exactly does Farmer's Almanac say about Missouri's Spring?

It's a bit complicated and troubling. First, they describe Spring in Missouri as "thunder and zing". Here's the real problem though. It's what they're saying about April and a very late season winter storm. They say "spring weather will take its time arriving, allowing winter conditions to linger, especially across the Midwest".

They're referring to a "blanket of rain, sleet and snow" in April which is about one month later than I'm willing to tolerate a snowstorm. I have two words for Farmer's Almanac: Be wrong.

In general, they're calling for Spring in Missouri to be wet and cool. I know a few farmers that would love the moisture as long as it doesn't keep them out of the fields. As for cool, that's probably preferable to blazing hot like it was last year. I really am not a fan of "keep those sweaters handy until June" prediction though.
