Photo Captures Once In A Lifetime Experience – Three Moose + Fall Colors In Minnesota
We are just at the beginning of the leaves changing in Northern Minnesota. As it typically goes, the further north you go, the earlier the fall colors begin. That's the case with this awesome trip up the Gunflint Trail.
Voyageur Canoe Outfitters in Grand Marais recently had a guest come and visit for a trip on the North Shore.
The guests were driving down the Gunflint Trail. The scenic route goes from Grand Marais located on the North Shore up to near the Canadian Border.
The photo was shared on September 17 by the Voyageurs Canoe Outfitters on their Facebook page showing a majestic sight.

Three moose were seen in a wetland area just off the Gunflint Trail.
Isn't that something? Most people never get to see a moose in Minnesota. Just this spring the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources estimated that the moose population in Minnesota was less than 4,000. It's down from previous years, but they say the population remains relatively stable.
You don't always need to head to the Canadian border to find moose, although the further you get away from populated areas the better your chances are.
Just last fall my father actually had an encounter with a moose in Central St. Louis County, Minnesota.
If you do see a moose, make sure to leave them plenty of space. They are large and can be dangerous if they charge. Trust me, if you see one in person you'll be awestruck by their size.
