You may not want to admit it or think about it just yet but winter is definitely closer than we think! School is back in session which means summer is winding down and we all know what happens shortly after that.

So far, there have been a few publications that have released their winter outlooks. For example, the Farmers' Almanac shared their winter predictions for Minnesota last month.

Now, whether you believe in their methodology or not, that is up to you. They are predicting a winter full of brief cold snaps, along with quick bursts of snow.

So when will we get our first taste of snow? Well, according to the Old Farmer's Almanac, that is coming very, very soon. Let's dive into the latest.

Old Farmer's Almanac Predicts First Snowfall Of The Season For The Northland

Ope! The Old Farmer's Almanac released their outlook for both September and October on Tuesday (September 1st) and it was one of the first things I looked at in the morning because I had a feeling this was coming.

According to their outlook, September will be mild with no signs of winter. October is when things will take a turn, with snow in the forecast early on into the month. Take a deep breath as we take a closer look. Ha!

Old Farmer's Almanac: Snow Throughout October For The Northland

Buckle up, because this might be worse than you thought! According to their outlook, things will be mild to kick off October.

From the 7th through the 17th, we can expect cold temperatures and periods of rain and snow. That will be our first taste of winter around here for the season.

We will get a bit of a break as the sun comes out and temperatures warm up a bit mid-month through the end of the month. As Halloween approaches, things get spooky, with rain and snow showers rounding out the last few days of the month.

Snowstorm? Not quite so there is a little bit of a silver lining! If you're keeping track, this also lines up pretty closely with what the Farmers' Almanac is predicting for October and fall in general.

We will have to wait and see but....just in case, get out and soak in every single second of summertime while you can!
