Toyota has just issued a recall affecting approximately 381,000 Toyota Tacoma pickup trucks. The recall pertains to certain model year 2022 and 2023 Tacoma trucks sold in the United States.

Here's the deal: Toyota has identified an issue with parts on the rear axle that could potentially come loose over time due to welding debris left during manufacturing. If these parts separate from the axle, it could impact vehicle stability and brake performance, raising the risk of a crash.

To address this, Toyota dealers will inspect the rear axle assembly of affected vehicles and tighten the axle retaining nuts at no cost to customers. If any axle components are found to be damaged, they will be repaired or replaced as necessary.

Owners of potentially affected vehicles will be notified of the recall by mail by late April 2024. To check if your Tacoma is included in the recall, visit Toyota.com/recall or nhtsa.gov/recalls and enter your vehicle identification number (VIN) or license plate information.

If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact Toyota's customer support line at 1-800-331-4331. Stay informed and drive safely.
