Iowa Mother Leaves 4 Kids at Home to Travel to Europe

An Iowa mother is behind bars after she left her four kids at home while she traveled Europe. 30-year old Erin Lee Macke was arrested last Thursday and faces four counts of child endangerment and one count of making a firearm available to a person under the age of 21.
According to the Des Moines Register, on September 21st, police in Johnston, Iowa were called to Macke's home after receiving a report that young children were left unsupervised in the house.
When officers arrived, they found Macke's children. Two of the kids are 12, while the others are 6 and 7. Police discovered that the mom head left he U.S. a day earlier to visit Germany and wasn't scheduled to be back til October 1st.
The Iowa Department of Human Services took custody of the kids and are now staying with family members.
