You've seen them from the highway, those towers with the giant white ball on them. The standard 'dad joke' about them usually as something to do with Paul Bunyan and golf.

In reality, those are the Doppler Radars that the weather guys are always going on about. There are a major part of storm tracking and weather forecasting. Have you ever wanted to know what's inside that big ol' ball?
