Sioux Falls native and former O'Gorman standout Jessica Mieras is leaving South Dakota State University.

It was announced on Wednesday night (April 12) that the second all-time leading scorer in O'Gorman girls basketball history would be joining Dakota Wesleyan University. Mieras will be eligible to play for the upcoming 2017-18 season.

In an official press release by Dakota Wesleyan, head coach Jason Christensen says he's excited about bringing in an inside scoring threat.

"I am beyond excited to add Jessica to the women's basketball program. She will provide us with an immediate scoring threat in the paint as well as having the ability to step outside and shoot the ball. She will also be a valuable asset to the Tiger family off the court as well." - Jason Christensen

Mieras graduated from O'Gorman in 2015 and signed to play with South Dakota State. During her time at SDSU, she averaged 1.2 points in limited time in 2015-16, and was injured during the 2016-17 season.
