There are chapters all over the world and “Food Not Bombs” is now coming to Sioux Falls.

The global movement to reduce food waste and help those in need is being spearheaded by Michael Iverson.

According to KDLT News Iverson wants to unite others to help feeding those in need with food that would otherwise go to waste.

The program is where volunteers go around to local grocery stores and co-ops to take their leftover food, use it to prepare meals, and then to give them away for free to those in need.

All the meals will be vegetarian or vegan so they don’t go bad and make people sick.

KDLT is reporting that Rapid City's involvement has about 400 people being served regularly.
