Bemidji, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in northern Minnesota are awaiting the results of an autopsy after finding the body of a fisherman in an ice shack over the weekend.

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the report of an unresponsive male in a fish house on Lake Bemidji shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday. Emergency responders were called to the lake by members of the man’s family.

First responders arrived at the scene on the southwest corner of the lake near Bemidji State University and pronounced the man dead at the scene. He’s described as a 44-year-old man. Authorities do not suspect foul play was involved in the man’s death. 

His body was sent to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for the autopsy. The man’s name has not been released.
