When you've lost your first five conference games, you look for encouragement anywhere you can find it.

For the University of South Dakota football team, there was plenty to be happy about for three quarters at Youngstown State last Saturday, that is until the roof caved in in the final 15 minutes.

The Coyotes forced a couple of turnovers that led to scores and kept the Penguins' big play offense in check for the first 45 minutes in Ohio, taking a 17-7 lead into the fourth quarter against the #13 team in the nation, before allowing 21 unanswered points in a 28-17 loss.

I asked USD head coach Joe Glenn about his team's solid start in Youngstown:

The Coyotes are back home this weekend, still in search of that elusive first Missouri Valley Conference win of the season, as they host a Western Illinois team that has just one league victory so far in 2014.

I asked Coach Glenn about the Leathernecks:

Kickoff is 4:00pm Saturday in Vermillion.  The Coyotes are home again next week when they host #12 Illinois State.
