In a few days you'll be seeing Christmas trees lined up against store fronts and in lots for sale.

Something you may be unaware of...the tree had a bath before it arrived here.

Really!

The Kirk Company of Oregon City only sends their Christmas trees across the globe after they've been doused with hot water.  And, some moisturizer.

Really!

This process is all to prevent slugs and other pests from traveling with the trees to their destination.  Kirk Co. ships about 500,000 trees a year.  They have operations in Oregon, Washington, North Carolina and Nova Scotia.  For instance, Hawaii is their biggest concern. Inspectors in the state are leery of invasive species and require fumigation if bugs are discovered in a load of trees.

Aaaaah, the fresh scent of a real bathed Christmas tree.  You can be assured that they will arrive fresh and clean.  As far as the moisturizer?  It helps the tree stay green and fresh longer.
