After a week of teasing the "biggest announcement," Dick Clark Productions and Gramophone Media finally spilled the tea about the American Music Awards Friday morning (November 3): a certain boy band is about to make a splash.

K-pop kings BTS will make their first ever televised performance on a United States stage at the 2017 American Music Awards on Sunday, November 19. The group will perform their Billboard Hot 100 hit "DNA" for the annual event, the group said.

Within a matter of minutes "#BTSxAMAs" began trending worldwide on Twitter, while the announcement from the AMAs account has already racked up more than 200,000 likes and 150,000 retweets.

BTS will also make an appearance on the Ellen Degeneres Show, according to producer Andy Lassner. Still, a source from BigHit has argued nothing is confirmed.

"We’ve been receiving offers to appear on various international television programs, and The Ellen Show is one of them. BTS’s appearance on the show has not yet been confirmed," BigHit told HeraldPop.

Either way, the era of BTS seems inevitable — let the countdown begin.
