Body Recovered Near Minnesota River Town ID’D as Missing WI Teen
Taylors Falls, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in east central Minnesota have identified body found recently in the St. Croix River.
The Chisago County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the reported body discovery late Friday morning. Officials say a group of canoers spotted the body in the water near Taylor Falls.
Officials say the body was sent to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, which performed an autopsy and identified the body as 18-year-old D’Andrea Sanvig of Luck, WI. Sanvig has been missing since April 11, when he reportedly fell into the river from an overlook at Interstate Park near the Taylor Falls Area.
Search and rescue teams tried to search for the young man for several days, however their efforts were limited by high and fast water caused by springtime flooding.
The Chisago County Sheriff’s Office thanked the numerous agencies and community members that aided in the search.
