Arterial Street in Southern Sioux Falls about to Get Full Use Status
In a couple weeks the construction season should conclude except for emergency situations. It’s been a long journey for 69th Street, but the end is in sight.
Almost a mile and a half of the thoroughfare has been transformed along with an expansion of the intersection with Western Avenue. Going from east to west drivers can see the widespread changes.
The whole breadth of this project includes a concrete median. There still is some touch up work on the south side of the street as the final landscaping gets attention.
You'll get a look at all four approaches to 69th and Western. The south side of the intersection is all open.
A few steps back shows just one left turn lane is yet to get clearance on the north side of 69th and Western.
There are still a few lanes to be opened on the east side of 69th and Western. Also note that the traffic signals are temporary for now.
The western approach also has some orange cones standing guard.
Here's the end of the construction area on the western end. There is still one lane available for the eastbound traffic.
