This Seriously Wild Theory About Anne Hathaway + Her Husband Is Eerily Convincing
Today in internet conspiracy theories, Twitter is convinced that Anne Hathaway's husband, Adam Shulman, is William Shakespeare reincarnated. Yep, you read that right: There are people out there there speculating that some 37-year-old actor/producer is actually a famous 16th century poet come back to life (hopefully in jest, but the internet has certainly believed crazier things). To be totally honest, though, the evidence is actually, um, kinda sorta really convincing?
First of all, Shulman does look a lot like Shakespeare (if nothing else, he could have a seriously long career ahead of him as an impersonator), but secondly, the name of the bard's real wife was literally Anne Hathaway. Obviously the whole idea is logistically impossible, but damn if that isn't an eerie coincidence. (It's also worth pointing out that Hathaway and Shulman have been married for six years now, and we're only just making this realization. Conspiracy theorists, you're slacking!)
In any event, Twitter was more than happy to jump aboard the conspiracy train, with some suggesting Hathaway and Shulman are time travelers, others vampires, and others still that this is Shakespeare's way of righting past wrongs (One person pointed out that he supposedly left his wife to be a playwright.)
"This is why they got back together now to make up for what he did," one user responded.
Romeo and Juliet have nothing on this star-crossed romance.
