Of course, with increased cases, the number of hospitalizations has gone up as well. 13 more people were admitted with COVID-19 since Tuesday, bringing the current total up to 105.

The number of people who have been vaccinated has also gone up, but not as quickly as positive tests have. According to vaccine data from the South Dakota Department of Health, 143 people have become fully vaccinated this week. A total of 364,822 people in the state are fully vaccinated and 394,440 have received at least a single dose. Approximately 55 percent of the state has received a complete series of vaccinations and 60.5 percent have received at least a single dose.

If you are fully vaccinated and plan to stay that way, U.S. health officials are now saying that booster shots will be offered up once it has been eight months since your last inoculation.
