A fire Saturday morning left three Sioux Falls kids dead and two adults in the hospital. The house on North Main Avenue was already engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. The three victims were found in a second story room.

According to the Associated Press, firefighters tried to enter the home but were forced back by the heat. When crews arrived, flames were shooting from nearly every west-side window on both floors.

Sioux Falls police Sgt. Loren McManus says 16-year-old Michael Hensely, 12-year-old Savannah Coon and 6-year-old Olivia Coon died in the Saturday morning, Dec. 22, blaze.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are working with the fire marshal to determine the cause of the blaze.
