Pat Sajak announced his retirement during a show earlier this week, and I thought it'd be a good time for us to share some of our favorite moments.

Sajak is one of the best game show hosts of all time, but even being a host of the show since 1981 doesn't mean you're 100% all of the time. One episode per day for over 40 years will be bound to have a slip-up or two.

She Wants A D, and She'll Get One

His phrasing at times would be enough to raise an eyebrow, but this one took the cake. The contestant called for a D, and Pat's next comment would be fine for any letter but D.

Last Friday, a contestant working to solve a puzzle guessed the letter "D," and Sajak responded by saying “She wants a D, and she’s going to get one." Many took what the host said as a euphemism for something much more inappropriate and of sexual nature.

Whether or not Sajak meant anything by his response to the guess is obviously only known by him, but that hasn't stopped people from assuming he did it on purpose.

Pat Gives The Final Puzzle's Answer Away

In what certainly was a "Don't say it, don't say it, don't say it" moment, Pat slipped up and accidentally said the answer to the final puzzle.

In the final puzzle, the contestant had guess the letters 'A, P, G, H,' and with the always give 'R, S, T, L, N, E,' the contestant had a decent amount of the puzzle filled in.

With the board displaying ' _ _ _ T E    _R A N_L_,' Pat turned to the contestant and said, “Well, I’d rather be standing here than there, quite frankly," accidentally giving away the answer to the puzzle.

At the end of the show, Vanna White asked him about the situation. "Did you hear what you said?”

“I wonder how many people at home caught it, but in setting up the thing there weren’t that many letters up there … it goes to show you that people are concentrating and they’re not paying any attention to me. And he didn’t get it," Pat replied.

Pat Shouldn't Do Impressions... EVER.

I wish there was a better-quality version of this clip, but it's from the early 2010s.

One contestant shocked the audience by solving the puzzle with just two letters on the board - "S_ _ _ _ _ & S _ _ _ _ _ -_ _ _" which of course is "Shaggy & Scooby-Doo."

Pat walks over to him and says "I've got just one thing to say about that" before unleashing the most unhinged noise you've ever seen him do that sounds absolutely nothing like Scooby Doo.

We'll miss Pat.
