"Hips Don't Lie" was part of the bonus re-release of Shakira's album, Oral Fixation, Vol. 2.

The song features Wyclef Jean and samples heavily from Wyclef's song "Dance Like This" that was on the Dirty Dancing Havana Nights soundtrack. That version features Claudette Ortiz. You may know Claudette Ortiz from the group City High.

According to Wikipedia, "Hips Don't Lie" won many awards, "...including a People's Choice Award, an MTV Latin America Video Music Award, and an MTV Video Music Award."

The article goes on to list all the records broken by "Hips Don't Lie." It states the song "...broke the record for the most radio plays in a single week and the fastest selling digital download song in the United States."

"Hips Don't Lie" was a chart topper all over the world, but in the US it went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Mainstream Top 40, and Hot Latin songs chart.

It was #5 on Billboard's Year End Hot 100 Chart for 2006.
