Augustana 5th After First Round Of Central Region Championships

Augustana shot a 20-over-par 308 and is in fifth place after the first round of play at the NCAA Division II Central Region Championships at Tartan Park Golf Course in Lake Elmo, Minn.

Maggie Leland and Allie Ostrander are tied for fifth in the individual standings with Tavia Rutherford of the University of Sioux Falls 19th after the first round.

The Augustana women's golf team has earned the No. 3 seed for the Central Region Championships the NCAA announced on Monday.

Leland, Vikings Capture NSIC Golf Titles

Augustana captured it's fifth straight Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women's golf championship on Sunday, easily outdistancing runner-up Concordia-St. Paul. Viking senior Maggie Leland won her second individual conference title by two strokes over teammate Marisa Toivonen.

Augustana has a nine stroke lead after the third round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Women's Golf Championships.

Vikings Rebound, Earn Split With Wildcats

Augustana bounced back on Saturday, earning a split with Wayne State in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheader.

The Vikings dropped the opener 5-3, but picked up the split with a 5-4 victory in the nightcap.

Augustana is ranked third in the first edition of the NCAA Central Region softball rankings. The Vikings dropped four spots in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 national poll.

Vikings 2nd, Cougars 3rd At NSIC Men’s Indoor Track and Field Meet

Augustana finished second and Sioux Falls third in the men's division of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships at Bemidji, Minn.

The Vikings were third in the women's team competition while the Cougars finished eighth.
