American Idol is back. The show that redefined TV talent shows had a finale, but Boom! It's back!

I have always loved American Idol. I remember watching Kelly Clarkson win the very first season and I was hooked!

I've been watching the new season and have been blown away by some of the new talent. However, it made me reflect on American Idol of the past and my favorite moments. Of course, this list could have gone on and on, but these were the first few performances that popped into my head.

1. David Cook singing "Always Be My Baby" by Mariah Carey

I remember the first time I heard this and just how creepy he sounded. And I weirdly liked how creepy it sounded. And when those strings come in!!! Love!

2. Blake Lewis singing "You Give Love A Bad Name" by Bon Jovi

Blake Lewis was known for beat boxing on the show so when he decided to rework a Bon Jovi classic, even Jon Bon Jovi was nervous for him. But I loved it!

3. Kimberley Locke singing "Where The Boys Are" by Connie Francis

Kimberley Locke was on the second season of American Idol and I loved her. She made it to the top 3 with Ruben and Clay and she held her own. I had never even heard this song before she sang it on Idol, but I was mesmerized.

4. Carrie Underwood singing "Alone" by Heart

Carrie Underwood was a front runner from the start. She was obviously meant to sing country, but when she sang Heart's "Alone" she really proved she could sing anything! Girl nailed it! And that hair though! P.S. "Alone" is one of my most favorite songs ever!

5. Clay Aiken singing "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon and Garfunkel

I am a self-proclaimed Claymate! I loved Clay Aiken when he was on Idol. I mean, Ruben was good, but I voted for Clay all the way. No offense to Simon and Garfunkel, but I have Clay's version of this song burned on a mix CD somewhere.

6. Kelly Clarkson singing "A Moment Like This" by Kelly Clarkson

Of course, the girl that started it all had to be in my favorite moments. When she won and tried to sing/cry on the finale I cried too! Her life was changed forever! Plus, I voted for her a lot. I don't know what it was, but I did not like Justin Guarini at all. He was a decent singer, but he just got on my nerves. He's great in those Diet Dr. Pepper commercials though.  #TeamKelly
