The lineup for a new Minnesota music festival was released yesterday, and all I can say is wow, what a roster of artists.

The Minnesota Yacht Club Festival will be on Friday, July 19th, and Saturday the 20th at Harriet Island Regional Park located in Downtown St. Paul on the bank of the Mississippi River.

How to Buy Tickets for The Minnesota Yacht Club Festival 2024

Tickets for the two-day music festival will go on presale starting at 10 AM on Friday, February 2nd, you can get a presale code here by signing up for their mailing list. Organizers say, "Public on-sale to follow at 11 AM if tickets remain." Considering the price of tickets, I don't think tickets will sell out in an hour.

Two-day general admission tickets will set you back a minimum of $215, the price will go up to $255 once the "tier 1" tickets sell out, if you just want to go for one day, these will start at $135. They are also offering a variety of ticket upgrades, including a Platinum ticket that will start at a whopping $925 per ticket.

What About Parking at The Minnesota Yacht Club Festival 2024?

One thing that stands out to me is the lack of information about parking, not even the highest-priced ticket comes with a parking pass.

If you're familiar with the Harriet Island area in St Paul, you'll know that there aren't large parking areas or parking ramps on that side of the river, most of the large parking areas are on the other side of the river in the downtown area.

It will be interesting to see how they handle this problem.

The promoters of The Minnesota Yacht Club Festival, C3 Presents, have some experience with these types of large-scale music festivals.

C3 Presents is affiliated with Live Nation and currently produces Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and Shaky Knees.

Grumpy Old Men's Minnesota Filming Locations

Does your family have some Family Movies? I mean those films that get played a lot in your house. The go-to bits of joy that make a day better, and are far more fun than watching The Weather Channel for an hour.

Growing up, our family movies included Grease (my parent's favorite movie), Bill and Ted, and Back to the Future. Now, with my spouse and kids, our family movies include Twister and Wall-E in heavy rotation. We also have long been obsessed with the Grumpy Old Men films.

The movie Grumpy Old Men, and its sequel, take place in Minnesota. They’re about a pair of lifelong frenemies, Max and John, played by Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon. They’re a couple of grumps living their retirement ice fishing and tormenting each other.

The movie was written and directed by Hastings, Minnesota native Mark Steven Johnson. And he made The Land of 10,000 Lakes one of the stars of the film.

The 1993 movie was shot in Minnesota, mainly at locations around Minneapolis and St Paul. Which means many of the locations are still there. So, we decided to take a Grumpy Old Men tour and see where they filmed this classic.
