It was a crazy couple days of new releases.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis debuted their new song and video, "Downtown" yesterday and then early this morning Justin Bieber released his highly anticipated new song, "What Do You Mean?"

These artist took very different approaches. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis kind of just sprung this new song on us like "BAM! Check this out!" Whereas, The Biebs has been hyping the release of his new song for weeks now. On his Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram he enlisted help from celebrity friends to get buzz going with the hashtag, #WhatDoYouMean.

Anyway, now to the music. Here are both songs.

I have to admit, I love this song. It is just what we expect from Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. It is reminiscent of "Thrift Shop," but still totally holds up on its own. The singing vocals are by Eric Nally, from the band Foxy Shazam. Yeah, I thought it was a girl singing too. Honestly, at times, I feel like he's just screaming, but overall I like the song. It also features rap pioneers, Grandmaster Caz, Kool Moe Dee and Melle Mel.

Bieber's new song just has a lyric video so far. And here it is.

The Biebs is all grown up! The lyric video features pro skateboarder, Ryan Sheckler.

Obviously, comparing these two songs is like comparing apples and oranges, but I'm going to ask anyway. Which one did you like better?

Also, both artists will be performing at this Sunday's MTV VMA's. Should be interesting.
