And, after Zedd made a point to clarify on Twitter that the song’s release was permitted by RCA and Kemosabe, Dr. Luke, who’s embroiled in a legal battle with Kesha, responded — unprovoked — “Thanks for the clarification.”

New Kesha music is finally on the way — and while it’s not quite what we were expecting, we’ll take it! Zedd announced the new version of “True Colors,” from the 2015 album of the same name, on Twitter today. The song will drop this Friday.
The singer shared a grainy shot of herself singing into a studio mic last night (April 26), with her caption confirming the speculation that she’d been working with Zedd.
“It’s a miracle when someone gives you a chance at finding your voice again with no reason other than that he is a fucking beautiful person with a heart of gold,” she wrote.

Zedd also set off a maelstrom of tweets on Monday night (April 25) when he posted a photo of himself in-studio with an unidentified artist. Based on a similarity in rainbow-colored hair, they quickly deduced the producer is likely working with the “Blow” singer.
The likely collaboration makes sense: Not only did Kesha recently appear onstage with the producer during his 2016 Coachella set, where the two performed his song “True Colors,” Zedd extended an invitation to produce for the Warrior singer back in February.
In fact, he was one of the few high-profile male artists to publicly support Kesha in her case against Sony and Dr. Luke when he tweeted, “very very sorry to hear about the whole situation. I’ll be happy to produce a song to you if you want my help.”
Zedd later explained in an interview that he reached out to the singer moments after reading about the lawsuit.
“I just read an article about [the case], literally right before I made the tweet because I didn’t know her personally,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I thought sending a tweet was kind of the best way to get in touch with her. The only thing I can really do to help is produce songs and that’s what I offered.”
From there, Kesha’s team reached out directly to Zedd.
“Her team actually hit us back confirming that I was serious about it, which is really cool,” he said. “I’m obviously very serious about it, so maybe something will happen. Maybe there’s something I can do. Maybe we can do some music. Nothing I can say right now, but it would be cool.
“All I know is that she’s in a very rough position,” he added, “and if there’s anything I can ever do to help I’ll always be happy to do that.”
