Going from Major to Minor Key Really Changes the Feel of ‘Girls Just Want To Have Fun’

My love of off-beat cover songs has been well documented on this blog (here, here and here...and here). A friend recently brought this one to my attention. This is Chase Holfelder a musician from Raleigh, NC. He makes music and posts videos to his YouTube channel.This video is part of his series where he changes the key of a song, and that changes the whole emotional feel of the tune.

As part of my ongoing series in which I take songs in a major (happy) key and transpose them to a minor (sad) key, here is my rendition of "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" made famous by Cyndi Lauper, but written by Robert Hazard. - Chase Holfelder
