My Dad & Mom's homestead in Northeastern Iowa is filled with a few dozen apple trees. All of which my Dad planted, nurtured, and watched mature into an amazing orchard.

On a recent visit my folks generously sent me home with a few bushels of farm fresh produce. I arrived back in Sioux Falls with boxs containing many different varieties of apples.

Fall in South Dakota is a time for comfort foods. One of my favorite comfort foods is Apple Crisp. Last year I stumbled upon maybe the easiest, quickest, and tastiest way to prepare it.

All you need to do is peel the apples (I use a simple hand crank peeler I found at Nyberg's Ace on 41st Street here in Sioux Falls).

Then all you need is some melted butter and a box of this Concord Farms Apple Crisp.

You combine the melted butter, mix, and apples in a baking dish. Pop it into the oven for about 20 minutes and you have one of the best dishes of fall.

I suggest topping it with some fresh whipped cream or, if you are gonna go nuts, some Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. What is your "Favorite Fall Comfort Food?"
