Unfortunately, the statistics regarding hunger in South Dakota,  haven't changed much over the years.

  • For children under the age of 18 in our state, one in every five is at risk of going hungry.
  • Almost 15% of South Dakotans live below the poverty line
  • One out of eight people are what the government terms "food insecure"
  • Our state has eight of the poorest counties in the U.S.
Yes, hunger is still a significant issue in our state, but there are so many ways that we can make a difference. Feeding South Dakota's Backpack Program is one of those as it  fills the weekend hunger gap for over 3,400 schoolchildren in Sioux Falls alone. Right now, just in time for Valentine's Day you can give a gift of love that will give twice.
The "Share Your Love" event Wednesday, February 14, raises funds to support the Backpack Program. For a $50 donation, you'll be providing a weekend food package to a child in Sioux Falls for the rest of the semester. Feeding South Dakota will then deliver a rose and Valentine's card to someone you love.

Make sure you order by noon on Tuesday, February 13, for guaranteed delivery. If you live outside Sioux Falls city limits, but would still like to participate a special Valentine's Day card will be delivered to your loved one.

To share your love call 605-335-0364 ext. 108 or donate and order online.
