One of the years most popular outdoor toys is getting a recall. The RipStik Motorized Castor Board is owned by early every kid on our block. I know this because my own kids remind me daily that everyone has one.

I've often questioned the safety of the free-wheeling board, that has a lithium ion battery that propels it to 10 MPH, and my kids always reply with, "Dad. Serious. What could go wrong?" Well, for one thing, the back wheel could lock up - and apparently, it happens a lot.

Razor USA, the maker of the RipStick, has asked that users stop using them immediately. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, over 700 reports of the rear wheel locking up has resulted in injuries, including loosened teeth, scrapes, and bruises.

The affected products are blue and black and have a sticker with the serial number on the bottom of the deck and on the charger. The sticker is white with black printing.

Here's what to do: Call Razor toll-free at 866-467-2967 to get a free repair kit, or do it online here.
