New German Holiday Market Opens This Weekend in Minnesota

If you haven't already made plans to check out at least one of our cool events around Minnesota this holiday season, it's time to get on it! So many events kick off over the next week, including one that's new this year.

European Christmas Market in St. Paul, MN

One of my favorite events that I've gone to for the past few years is the European Christmas Market that they host at Union Depot in St. Paul.

It's cool to see all of the different vendors, watch performances, and drink delicious glühwein, which is a German hot mulled wine.

This year's European Christmas Market will run every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday starting November 29th and the final weekend will be the weekend before Christmas. It's also free to attend!

Christmas Markets are Big in Europe

Christmas Markets are a big deal in Europe. They're outdoor festivals that are emulated here in Minnesota with the European Christmas Market. And now, we'll have a second option to sprinkle a little Europe into our festivities.

New German Christkindl Market in Minneapolis

New this year, we've got a German Christmas Market, or Christkindlmarkt in German.

The Christkindl Market, as they're calling it, will take place at North Loop Green in Minneapolis, which is close to Target Field.

It'll be a free, outdoor event, like a traditional Chirstkindlmarkt, with delicious European treats, handcrafted gifts, and an enchanting atmosphere. Don't worry, they'll have glühwein too!

You can visit the Christkindl Market starting this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (November 22nd - 24th). They'll be open every Friday through Sunday through the weekend before Christmas!
