When Do North Dakota Car Washes Close Due to Cold Weather?
North Dakota winters can be brutal. We often dip down in the negatives during the winter.
Did you know you actually should be running through the car wash even in the wintertime? - I just learned this last year, but it makes sense. Our cars get covered with sludge, salt, and other chemicals from the roads and you don't want to it to ruin your car. Not only that, if you accidently brush up against it, it can ruin/stain you clothes. No bueno.
Yes, we should be washing our cars in the winter, but are the car washes even open? To find the answer to that question I started calling around to different car washes in Bismarck-Mandan.
The answer? --Mostly.
Most car washes I contacted are, in fact, open even on the coldest days in North Dakota. Red Carpet, and Tommy's both said they are always open.
While that true for a few that I called, that might not necessarily be the case for every car wash in town. I call Simonson's and found that they are open in the winter, but will close down the wash if the temps drop below 15 degrees.
I asked why they choose to close and was told that they have people working in the bay doing pre-washes, so they want to bring them in on those really cold days. --Makes sense.
In any case, there are plenty of car washes that operate in the winter, so if your car gets a little dirty, you can always run it through a wash.
