5 Things That Don’t Suck About North Dakota
When it comes to North Dakota, everyone is a hater. To shine a little light on some of the positive things we have going on in our state, I put together a list of stuff that DOESN'T suck. Let's dive in.
1. Rush Hour
Have a bit of a drive to work? There's no need to wake up at 5 or even 6 am in North Dakota. There never is, nor will there ever be 'rush hour.'
Worst case scenario, your 8-minute drive will turn into a 12-minute drive. There are far worse places to live when it comes to rush hour traffic.
2. Dakota Dancing
This is something I only recently discovered, but there are several bars scattered across the state where people do some dirty Dakota dancing.
Ok, so it's not "dirty" per se, but it is just as interesting to watch.
Line dancing. Yes, people drive hours to line dance together. Square dancing happens as well.
And don't get me started on the Polka music crowds.
3. Go Big or Go Home
For some reason the state of North Dakota is littered with large animal statues. We have the "World's Largest Buffalo," the World's Largest Turtle," and the "World's Largest Holstein Cow."
I'm stopping there, but please know, there are several others that did not make that list.

4. Dakota Drama
The population of North Dakota is very small when you compare it to other states, so we're all up in each other's business.
Someone in Bismarck will probably hear about someone in Minot getting divorced for a third time, and that's perfectly normal. We judge and gossip from afar.
While you might think that's a bad thing, I think we're entitled to a little entertainment around these parts.
5. Plenty of Room
Need a fresh start? There is plenty of room to move your whole family out here. Not only that, but there are also plenty of job opportunities.
Need somewhere to start a farm? - We have the space.
Need somewhere to start a ranch? - We have the space.
