Sioux Falls Locals Frustrated By Strange Humming Noise
Mysterious Humming on East Side Driving Sioux Falls Residents Nuts
If anybody has any idea as to what the mysterious humming is on the east side of Sioux Falls, there are plenty of residents who would appreciate answers.
People have been reporting hearing a "humming" noise for a few years now, and no definitive answer has been found. Theories range from trains, planes, buzzing cicadas, street lights, and electrical transformers, and none of these answers seem to satisfy the annoyed people.
Another theory posted that it could be a new 5G tower in the area.
"Wish I knew! It’s super annoying and frustrating." ~ East side resident
A couple of excerpts from the NextDoor social media site include East Side residents complaining of an irritating hum that lasts exactly 5 seconds and repeats itself exactly 15 seconds later. One suggested they may be cicadas, but we doubt cicadas can buzz for exactly 5 seconds and take a 15-second break. I've never seen one with a little wristwatch.
The other nuisance for many Sioux Falls residents is the heavy smoke from Canadian wildfires. The smoke has caused air quality warnings and is responsible for a forfeit from a soccer club because they were concerned about their players.
According to NBC News, More than 90 fires scattered across Canada are burning out of control.
Severe weather is possible tonight, mysterious buzzing, and heavy smoke. What a week.
