Building a home in the Mount Rushmore State costs, on average, $301,739, which is more than $30,000 less than the national average ($332,397), and $144 per square foot, which is $14 cheaper than the average ($158).

New home construction in Minnesota is among the highest in America.

The North Star State is 11th overall with an average price of $352,943, which is about $20,000 higher than the national average, and $168 per square foot, which is $10 more than the norm.
