Casey’s Adding Nearly 200 Locations in Four New States
An lowa-based convenience store giant with locations in South Dakota and Minnesota is about to expand its footprint into four new states.
Casey’s General Stores has closed an acquisition deal with Fikes Wholesale of Temple, Texas, owner of CEFCO Convenience Stores. As part of the sale, Casey's will add 148 locations in the Lone Star State, as well as 50 stores in Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi.
That will bring Casey's total store count to approximately 2,900 locations in 20 states.
Casey's was founded in Iowa back in 1967, when Donald Lamberti bought the Square Deal Oil Company in Boone, and converted it into a convenience store. As of 2024, the company was the third-largest convenience retailer and fifth-largest pizza chain in the U.S.
