How Dissatisfied Are South Dakotans With Their Careers?
I have been very lucky to have a long and fun radio career. But I know not everyone is happy with their chosen field of pursuit, and a new study highlights that.
This study, from Local Falcon, which was done by using AI technology, looked at Google searches for every one of the 50 states. They looked for search phrases like "quitting job", "how to quit my job", "when is the best time to quit my job", and "not happy with my job".

For each state, they collected the average number of this kind of search question and then ranked the states depending on the highest number of job dissatisfaction searches.
Here are the Top Ten states most dissatisfied with their careers.
- Vermont
- Wyoming
- Alaska
- North Dakota
- Rhode Island
- Hawaii
- New Hampshire
- Delaware
- South Dakota
- Colorado
In South Dakota, the most Googled search term was "how to write a resignation letter". So apparently, some South Dakotans are currently doubting, or indeed, disliking their job of choice right now.
Various factors can contribute to career dissatisfaction including lack of flexibility, salaries not matching the increasing cost of living, and not feeling valued.-David Hunter/CEO Local Falcon
