Sioux Falls Trot Like A Turkey Run For The Banquet

Looking for a non-traditional way to celebrate Thanksgiving with the whole family and give back to the community? Let’s Sioux Falls Talk Turkey Trot!

Before the blur of last-minute meal preparation and frenzied chores begins, lace up your sneakers, grab the family, and help support The Banquet.

The family-focused event will be held on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 27th, at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds Armory Building in Sioux Falls.

Participants will have the option to enjoy a short 1-mile course or push themselves further with a 5K or even 10K run.  

This has been an enduring tradition for many people on Thanksgiving, and all proceeds directly support The Banquet. The event is all about fun, fitness, and community.

There will be no registration, no timing or official results, no race bibs, and no competitive pressure.

A suggested $20 donation per person can be made at TheBanquetSF.org, Venmo: @TheBanquetSF, or by stopping into the Downtown office.

The Banquet Executive Director, Tamera Jerke-Liesinger, says, “It’s more than just a run on Thanksgiving. It’s something that helps The Banquet achieve its mission, as we welcome the community to gather and serve each other, feeding body and soul.”

Runners, walkers, strollers, and families are all welcome. Feel free to dress as festive turkeys, pilgrims, and Thanksgiving-themed costumes are encouraged.
