When I think of the Crack'd Pot restaurant in Sioux Falls, I think of 2 things - pie and soup. Specifically Sour Cream Raisin Pie and potato soup! Ask other people what they love at this iconic Sioux Falls eatery and you'll get a long list.

Recently Pigeon 605 took a closer look at this delightful restaurant and found out that serving great food at a reasonable price is their goal and they've been striving toward that goal for close to 50 years.

From Generation To Generation: The Legacy Of The Crackd Pot

Of course, they sell a lot of pies which are all homemade by Carol Andersen. Her initial is one of two that you will still see on the sign outside the store. The other initial is K for her late husband Kurt.

The Andersen's son Mike is the current owner, but it is his son Alex, the general manager, who is the engine behind the restaurant's current success.

According to Pigeon 605, Alex started washing dishes when he was 10 and never really saw his future at the restaurant but now is totally dedicated to it.

Celebrating 50 Years: Crack'd Pot’s Incredible Legacy

Only a few other restaurants in South Dakota have been around longer than Crack'd Pot and 50 years is an amazing anniversary.
