Every year, one sure sign that the holiday season is here is the appearance of the Salvation Army volunteer bell ringers with their red kettles. This Saturday is a very special day for the organization as it is $20 Match Day according to Dakota News Now.

Any $20 donation in a red kettle becomes $100 by way of several generous donors in the Sioux Falls area. This one-day fund drive has a goal of raising $75,000 to help the Salvation Army reach its overall holiday goal this year of $300,000.

That Christmas goal is the largest fundraising effort of the year and goes a long way in providing the care and services that are offered in Sioux Falls.

Some of those services include feeding the hungry, helping disaster survivors, overcoming poverty, sharing God's love, and meeting the greatest needs in Minnehaha and Lincoln counties.

The greatest need right now in our area is for cash donations, so this Saturday, December 14, get in on the giving by turning your $20 donation into $100 for Salvation Army Match Day.

Just look for the hardworking bell ringers at your favorite Sioux Falls stores and please give to help the less fortunate in our community.
